TrailerCast
06Use case · Handoff

Closed-won is not the finish line.

The moment the contract completes, TrailerCast auto-generates a Handoff Brief and sends it to your CSM. Why they bought, every promise made, every stakeholder, every risk flag. The deal you spent six weeks closing gets a clean first 30 days because implementation arrives already up to speed.

Without TrailerCast

The sales-to-CS handoff is where deals quietly fall apart.

The contract closes. The AE sends a Slack message saying "Brightside is closed-won, kicking off Monday." The CSM gets the message, glances at the CRM, finds three fields filled in, and walks into the kickoff with no context. They ask the customer questions the AE answered six weeks ago. They miss the security concern that almost killed the deal. They make implementation promises that contradict what was sold. By month two the customer is frustrated, the CSM is firefighting, and the renewal is at risk. The handoff is the most consequential 24 hours of the relationship, and it's usually treated as an afterthought.

With TrailerCast

An AI brief that fires automatically, on close.

The Handoff Brief is generated the moment the eSignature envelope completes. It pulls from every signal in the deal: the discovery transcripts, the Decision Room conversations, the MAP check-offs, the ROI commitments, the engagement heatmap, the objections raised. The CSM gets a 3-minute read that has everything: why this customer bought, what was promised, who the stakeholders are, what could go wrong. Onboarding starts on day one, not week three.

  • Auto-fires the moment the eSignature envelope completes (no manual trigger)
  • Pulls from every signal in the deal: calls, conversations, MAP, ROI, engagement, objections
  • Structured sections: Why they bought, Promises made, Stakeholders, Success criteria, Risk flags, AE's closing notes
  • Sent to the CSM via email + lands in the Decision Room for future reference
  • Includes the trailer and key recordings so CS can hear the customer in their own words
  • PDF export for handoff calls and internal account reviews
How it works

4 steps, no manual stitching.

03

CSM receives the brief

Email notification with the full brief plus links to the Decision Room, the trailer, and key recordings. PDF export available for handoff calls.

04

What changes for your team.

3 min
CSM read time

The brief is structured for a 3-minute read. Everything the CSM needs to walk into the kickoff prepared.

Auto
On envelope close

No manual trigger. No Slack message. The brief fires the moment the contract is signed.

Day 1
Onboarding starts

Instead of weeks 2-3 catching up. CSM and customer talk implementation, not discovery.

Common questions.

What sections does the Handoff Brief have?

Headline (one-sentence summary of the deal), Customer profile, Deal summary, Stakeholders with role and engagement signal, Why they bought, Success criteria as agreed in the MAP, Promises made (commitments the AE made during the deal), Risk flags (objections that almost killed it, technical concerns, contractual carve-outs), and AE's closing notes for the human context the AI can't infer.

Can the AE edit the brief before it fires to CS?

Yes. The AE can review and add closing notes (the "here's what I'd tell my CSM over coffee" section) before the brief fires automatically. Or the AE can override the auto-fire timing and send it manually after a personal handoff conversation.

Where does the brief live after the handoff?

Inside the Decision Room, in a CS-tab that's visible to the CSM and the AE. It updates if the AE adds new closing notes. PDF export is available for off-platform handoff meetings.

What if we use HubSpot or Salesforce for handoff today?

The Handoff Brief can sync to HubSpot or Salesforce as a deal note attached to the account record. The integration writes structured fields (stakeholders, success criteria, risk flags) into custom CRM properties for downstream automation.

Does this work for deals that didn't use TrailerCast eSignature?

Yes. You can manually trigger the Handoff Brief from any Decision Room in "closed-won" status. The auto-fire is optional and tied to the eSignature envelope completing.

What about expansion or renewal context for the CSM down the road?

The Handoff Brief becomes the seed document for the customer's account history. As the CSM works the account, the AI Deal Brief continues to update with every conversation, every QBR, every signal. By renewal time the CSM has a year of structured context, not a Slack archive.
